Mike Stockton is an entrepreneur extraordinaire with his hands on the pulse of Long Creek.

Mike owns a popular pizza restaurant, whitewater retail store,
resort facility, RV campground, and hosts large annual music festivals.

His landmark location on Highway 76 was once a 2-room school house built in 1912.

In the 1970s it was the site of the original Wildwater rafting outpost.

Mike purchased the property in 2003.

Presently the location is home to Chattooga Whitewater Outfitters,
a retail store which sells speciality fly fishing gear and whitewater essentials.

They rent duckies, which are inflatable “funyaks”, for one or two people.
Chattooga Whitewater Outfitters is one of just two permittees that provides shuttle service
on the Chattooga River. You can have them drop you and your boat at the river put-in and
they’ll pick you up later at the river take-out.

Mike owns Humble Pie restaurant which is adjacent to Chattooga Whitewater Outfitters.

The pizza, wings and beer have been popular with locals and the visiting boating crowd for over a decade.
Last year Humble Pie increased their menu to include speciality salads, burgers and house made desserts.

The restaurant is off the road and has outside seating and a covered back porch.
It’s a great place to visit and let the kids run around after a fun day on the river.

It’open seasonally with summer hours Wednesday – Sunday.

Mike’s other endeavor, Chattooga River Resort,
is on Orchard Road in Long Creek a couple miles off Highway 76.

The resort has a restaurant with full bar and a stage for live music.

The resort is a great event site and has plenty of outdoor seating.

There are 9 lodge rooms onsite that share a social bath facility.

Within walking distance to the resort is the RV campground.
There are 20 “improved” tent sites in close proximity to a communal bath house.

Several campsites border the actual Long Creek, which flows by and continues into the Chattooga River.
There is plenty of overflow space for additional tent camping.
They have 9 RV sites with power and water hook up.

An Annual Long Creek Music Festival takes place at Chattooga River Resort in May.
Bands come from Nashville, Memphis and New Orleans to name a few.
The festival has arts & craft vendors, food, kids events and more all weekend long.
