UPDATE: 10/29/21
The most colorful foliage was expected to happen in our area during the middle of October.  But in reality, the color changes are occurring later in the month and seem to be peaking this week!

Oconee County is located in the upstate of South Carolina. This mountainous region is especially scenic during the autumn months when the forested landscape blooms with color!

Interactive 2021 Fall Foliage Predictor

This cool interactive map was created for SmokyMountains.com by David Angotti* using NOAA data processed by an algorithm to predict this year’s color changes.

Try it!  Move the bubble along the timeline to see how the leaves are predicted to change throughout the season.
