Burrells Ford Campground

Campground offers campsites, pit toilet, picnic tables and fire rings (no electricity or water available). It’s a 1/4 mile walk for sites along the Chattooga River. From campsites it’s pretty easy to hike and see the impressive King Creek Falls. Burrells Ford is a good base camp location for day hiking and exploring the Ellicott Rock Wilderness. Campground is open year round and no charge.

Located on the banks of Lake Hartwell, this pet-friendly campground has 227 sites suitable for RVs and tents. They also have 6 cabins, an outdoor pool, club house, ping pong, mini golf and more.

Cassidy Bridge Hunt Camp

Located on the Chauga River, this campground is open and free to use during big game season (Oct. 1 – Dec. 31) and turkey season (April 1 -30). Other times of the year, the camp is open by reservation for $30/night. The campground has vault toilets and trash cans. It can accommodate groups of up to 100 people. Families like to reserve the camp for reunions, cookouts and camp outs. The Chattooga River and commercial outfitters are within 15 minutes of the campground.

Chau Ram County Park

Over three miles of hiking trails and a mile of the Chauga River runs through the park. Tubing, hiking, fishing, picnicking, camping and sight-seeing are popular activities. The park has 26 campsites with water and electricity; four rental areas for parties and gatherings; a playground; and is a favorite spot for weddings. $3 park entry fee.

Cherry Hill Recreation Area

There are 29 campsites, some suitable for RVs. The campground has restrooms with flush toilets, hot showers and a dump station (no hook ups). Close to the Chattooga River, Walhalla State Fish Hatchery, Oconee State Park, Ellicott Rock Wilderness, and the Foothills Trail. Open April 1-October 31. Campsites are available through reservation only and the fee is $15 per night. Call (877) 444-6777 to reserve.

Crooked Creek RV Park

Campground located on Lake Keowee. They have 97 RV sites with full hookup. Their marina has a full menu with docks and gas. Amenities: 24 Hour Security, ATM Machine, Fax Service, Golf Cart Rentals, Camp Store, Picnic Tables at Each Site, Heated and Air Conditioned Bath Houses, Clean Facilities with Individual Rooms, Handicap Facilities Laundry, Swimming Pool, Kiddie Pool, Lake Keowee Beach Area, Fishing.

Devils Fork State Park

Travel Tip: ARRIVE EARLY! If you are coming to enjoy a day on the lake, make sure you arrive by 9:30AM for the best chance of getting a parking space. The park is the only public access point for Lake Jocassee, a 7,500-acre reservoir lake. Boat ramps for public boat access to the lake; 20 lakeside villas; 59 standard sites for RV or tent camping; 25 tent camping sites; 1 boat-in campground; 2 picnic shelters; 2 playgrounds; 2 mile Bear Cove Trail; 1 mile Oconee Bell Nature Trail. Park store.

Forest Spring Family Campground

A well-kept campground surrounded by peaceful serenity that offers 30 spacious campsites. Daily, weekly and monthly campsites all with full hook-ups either 30 AMP or 50 AMP. Handicapped-accessible heated bathhouse, free WiFi, playground, sites have fire pit and picnic table, exercise room, Camp Store. Also available: 9 rustic cabins that are furnished and handicapped-accessible to sleep 1-4 people.

Grapevine

Primitive campsites that are first-come, first-served. Good for car camping, but doesn’t have amenities or facilities. Grapevine is located at the end of Forest Service Road 764, off of Chattooga Ridge Road (approximately 1.4 miles south of intersection with Whetstone Road.)

High Falls County Park

46 acre park located on the shores of beautiful Lake Keowee. There are 91 campsites with 10 being waterfront; two boat ramps; 3 rental buildings/shelters; playground; picnic tables with charcoal grills; swimming area; restroom; miniature golf; tennis and basketball courts; volleyball; fishing pier and more. $3 park entry for cars; $5 fee for boats and trailers.

Lake Hartwell State Park

Just off of I-85, at the South Carolina-Georgia border, you’ll find Lake Hartwell State Park. Thanks to 56,000-acre Lake Hartwell, fishing in this area is renowned by anglers across the state. Attractions: Unique Single Room Camper Cabins, 128 Camping Sites, 1 Picnic Shelter Building, 2 Boat Ramp, Basketball Court, Swimming and Hiking.

Lakeside Tent

A primitive camping tent overlooking Horseshoe Lake on the Chattooga Belle Farm property. This 16 foot tent features 2 cots, 2 chairs, and a table. There is PLENTY of additional room for extra blowup mattresses. No electricity or water – absolutely NO open flame inside the tent. Just minutes away from the famous Chattooga Belle Farm Distillery. The farm is a great place to spend the weekend with a farm store, bistro, fruit picking, distillery, and 200+ acres to walk around.

Primitive campsites without amenities or facilities. Located approximately seven miles NW of Stumphouse Ranger Station. Turn left off Hwy. 28 onto Low Water Bridge Road. Campsite is .5 miles on left.

Located at the northern end of Lake Hartwell on the Seneca River and close to Clemson, SC. This campground has 60 sites equipped with electric (50-amp) and water hook-ups. Private sites are spacious and located near or close to the water. Attractions: Shower/restroom facilities, dump station, playground, swim beach, boat access.

Oconee State Park

The joys of a mountain retreat without the work. The historic park rests deep in the Blue Ridge foothills, with several picturesque but non-demanding hiking trails and well-kept cabins and campgrounds that have welcomed families for annual trips since the days the park was first built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression. Small retail store. (Pets on leash are allowed in outdoor areas and they are allowed in cabins 14-20.)

RV Sites at Chattooga Belle Farm

3 RV Sites available. RV Site #1 is a full hook-up site in the shade near the distillery with 30-AMP power, water, and sewage. RV Site #2 is a partial hook-up site, partially in sun /shade near the distillery with 30-AMP power & water but no sewage. RV Site #3 is located in the sun nestled between a cow pasture and orchards. This site has 30-AMP power & water, but no sewage. The farm features a store, bistro, fruit picking, distillery, and 200+ acres to walk around.

South Cove County Park

A variety of day use activities and lakeside camping. Fishing, boating, sailing and water skiing are readily accessible via two park boat ramps. Facilities include: picnic tables, 4 lighted tennis courts, a volleyball court, 18-hole miniature golf course, horseshoe pits, playground areas, a handicapped accessible fishing pier & sand beach for sun. Small park retail store. $3 park entry fee; $5 for boats & trailers. Annual park pass available for $25.

Whetstone Horse Camp

Access to 28 miles of nearby trails and a good base camp for riders on both the Rocky Gap (South Carolina) and Willis Knob (Georgia) horse trails. The campground is open year-round and has 18 sites with parking spurs for horse trailers. Reservation only. Sites are equipped with water, picnic tables and grills. Vault toilets and drinking water available. Hitching posts throughout the facility. Fee: $15/night.
