One of Walhalla’s established businesses has a new owner. Alexander’s Office Supplies is now Alexander’s Work & Wonder.
What used to be strictly office supplies is now a blend of outdoorsy general merchandise and speciality beverages.
Oconee County has so many neat places! But surprisingly, there aren’t a lot of stores offering gifts or souvenirs for visitors to take home. Josh Thomas, the new owner of Alexander’s Work & Wander, is excited to offer merchandise featuring some of Oconee County’s most popular attractions including: Stumphouse Park, Yellow Branch Falls, Riley More Falls and Oconee Bell wildflowers.
There’s a small coffee shop in the back of the store run by a woman named Anna who’s from Puerto Rico. Anna makes trips home and brings back varieties of premium Puerto Rican coffee to sell in the store. Buy it by the bag, or order Latin American inspired cafe con leche and Puerto Rican coffee by the cup. You could also satisfy your sweet tooth with candy coffee drinks and summery sensations.
Something new they’re making is the “Refresher Trailhead to Paradise”, which is a coconut milk base with coconut and caramel syrup, strawberry and pineapple frozen fruit chunks and coconut shavings. Wow, that’ll add pep to your step!
They’ve curated the selection of office supply products (the “Work” in Work & Wander) to be what’s most commonly purchased, can be re-stocked easily, and is essential for everyday home or office work. You’ll still find office necessities like pens, paper, cards and notebooks along with modern day must-haves including phone chargers, TV firesticks and Echo dots.
Alexander’s provides business services too: scanning, faxing, making copies and they’re a drop off point for FedEx ground or express packages.
Alexander’s served the local community for 40+ years. But the supply chain for “Mom and Pop” office supply stores all but dried up (or became unobtainable for smaller markets). Going forward, Alexander’s Work & Wander is proud to build on the reputation of the former Alexander’s Office Supply. They are going in a new direction to continue serving local residents and tourists alike. Onward!
