Sunrise Farm: A Unique Stay in Salem

Sunrise Farm is a charming bed and breakfast in Salem, SC

Built in 1890, the farmhouse served as the residence for a family who grew cotton on 350 acres of land. Three generations of their descendants lived in the house and continued farming the land for over a hundred years.

Eventually, much of land was sold off and the house changed hands. Several years ago a couple bought the property and established a bed and breakfast in the house.  In 2018  they sold the business to Greg and Suzanne Humphreys. Greg and Suzanne updated the rooms and created additional sleeping quarters in two outbuildings. They are able to offer sleeping accommodations for 16 guests.

Suzanne and Greg enjoy their role as innkeepers and make every effort to provide a welcoming and comfortable experience in a period setting. Each morning, Suzanne cooks a full breakfast including homemade goodies and Greg prepares fresh squeezed orange juice.

This is a great place to slow down, relax and catch up with people you care about, while being cared for by friendly innkeepers. It’s a wonderful setting for festive celebrations, or for reuniting with old friends. It’s also peaceful and quite for people who prefer to get away from it all.

The farmhouse and cottages have updated plumbing, air conditioning, heat and WiFi throughout. The house is a shoe-free zone, and complimentary socks are provided for every guest.

Although Sunrise Farm is not a wedding venue, it is well suited for hosting bridal or baby showers, luncheons and the like. The scenic setting is often used for engagement and graduation pictures.
