We Moved!

Our New Visitor Center is located on Main Street in Walhalla

For 12 years Visit Oconee SC was headquartered in Walhalla inside the historic Earle House. The building suited us well, but we dreamed of a more visible location to serve the public. Recently, an opportunity presented itself and that dream has come true! We are now located in the heart of the city at 224 E. Main Street in Walhalla, SC.

Out With the Old…

After weeks of preparation, we moved to our new location on February 1, 2022.

We were fortunate the relocation occurred in the “off season” and Phil Shirley, Director of Oconee County Parks Recreation and Tourism, was able to “loan” us the staff of High Falls County Park for the day. These Park Rangers are a terrific team! They arrived with trucks, trailers, muscles and good humor. By mid afternoon they had us moved out and into our new location a block away. We are grateful to these good people! Thanks so much Liz, John, James, Alfonso and Tim for all your heavy lifting!

In With the New!!!

We look forward to settling into our new home on Main Street!

Bit of History

The building once housed the local chapter of American Red Cross for a number of years.  It sat vacant for a time until an enterprising couple, Lana and Bruce Justice, purchased and renovated it as a co-working environment known as “224.”  Individuals rented space, or an office, and had use of amenities including: wi-fi, conference room, kitchen, bathrooms and back porch.  This situation was ideal for staff of Visit Oconee SC.  The landlords were receptive to our offer and agreed to lease the entire building to us. Fortunately the timing was right, and the co-working tenants moved to another property.
