Oconee History Museum
Explore the history of Native Americans, immigration, railroads, New Deal programs, textile mills, agriculture and much more as it relates to Oconee County. The exhibit hall offers a self-guided tour of Oconee’s history. In addition to the museum, there is a classroom frequently used by local businesses and social groups for meetings and functions. OPEN Tuesday through Saturday 11:00am – 5:00pm. Not-for-profit organization. Free admission/$3 per person donation is encouraged.
Paesano’s Italian Restaurant
Italian dishes, steaks and fresh fish. Nightly features. Pizza and calzones. Covered patio dining. Open for dinner Tuesday – Saturday (closed Sunday & Monday).
Ram Cat Cellars
Wine bar with speakeasy retro vibe. 40+ wines by the glass, bourbons, craft beer and food including: charcuterie, small plates, tapas, flatbreads and desserts. They are open evenings Monday-Sunday.
Ramsey Creek Falls
Beautiful 40ft. cascade over large boulders where Ramsey Creek and Chauga River meet. The falls is located inside Chau Ram County Park where a $3 parking fee applies. Lower parking lot provides roadside viewing. Good wading pond at foot of falls. Excellent swimming just a short, easy walk from the falls on well-marked and partially paved trail. Sole Grill & Sushi Bar
Open for dinner Monday – Saturday 4-10PM (closed Sunday). Sushi, craft cocktails, tapas, salads, sandwiches and items from the grill.
Stumphouse Park
The Park includes: Stumphouse Tunnel, Issaqueena Falls, the Stumphouse Passage of the Palmetto Trail, Stumphouse Mountain Bike Park and Blue Ridge Railroad hiking trail. Picnic tables, rental event pavilion, portable restrooms. There is a park entrance fee of $5 per vehicle/$10 per bus. (Annual passes may be purchased online or in person from the City of Walhalla.)
Stumphouse Tunnel
Located within Stumphouse Park ($5 entry fee per vehicle). The Stumphouse Mountain Tunnel was part of the Blue Ridge Railroad project, an 1850s attempt to link the port of Charleston to the cities of the Midwest by rail. The Civil War and subsequent collapse of the state’s economy brought construction to an end and the tunnel was never completed. Family-friendly 1/4 mile walk into the tunnel (flashlight recommended), park picnic shelter and outdoor bathrooms nearby.
Sunrise Farm Bed & Breakfast
The farm is the last part of a late 1800s 385-acre cotton plantation. Guests are served a full sumptuous breakfast, featuring all-natural ingredients, fresh local produce, and homemade specialties. Wooden rockers and wicker furniture on the large wrap-around porch.
