When it comes to hiking, Oconee County, SC has options! One of our most sought after trails is the 77-mile Foothills Trail. If that’s more than you’re after, choose from hikes that are easy, moderate or strenuous–many of which lead to wonderful waterfalls.

8 Rivers Flowing

The Wild and Scenic Chattooga River, and the lesser known Chauga River, both flow free through Oconee County.  Their banks are undeveloped settings where nature lovers enjoy peace and solitude. Much of the surrounding National Forest is evergreen, but many tree species shed their leaves allowing for better views through the woods. The cooler months are excellent for trout fly fishing.

9 Boats a Floating
